How to Watch ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 3

Almost a year after we last saw him, America’s sweetheart is returning to TV. Season 3 of “The Mandalorian” is premiering soon, bringing with it the latest adventures of the beloved Baby Yoda.

“The Mandalorian” Season 3, like all past seasons of the show, will stream exclusively on Disney+. That said, unlike the first two seasons, which debuted new episodes each Friday, the third outing of Din and Grogu will premiere new episodes every Wednesday. The season premiere will debut on Disney+ on March 1, at 3:00 am ET (or 12:00 am PT). Like the first two seasons, Season 3 will run for eight episodes, concluding on April 19.

Inside the Panic of Making ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’

“All Quiet on the Western Front” came out of the BAFTAs with seven wins, including Best Film and Best Director, and boasts nine Oscar nominations. With the influential international Academy voting bloc, could this win Best Picture?

Foreign-language Best Picture wins are still rare, especially without the directing nod that “All Quiet” lacks. Bong Joon Ho won Best Director and Best Picture with “Parasite” in 2020, and it remains an anomaly. The Korean crowd pleaser grossed $252 million worldwide and also won the SAG Ensemble award that went to 2022 Oscar winner “CODA” and 2023 frontrunner “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

Still, grabbing a Best Picture nomination shows how competitive “All Quiet on the Western Front” could be in many categories and Netflix’s formidab...

Woody Harrelson Regrets His ‘Planet of the Apes’ Performance: Now I Could ‘Do It 20 Times Better’

Woody Harrelson isn’t going to war with himself any longer, despite looking back in frustration at past roles.

The “Champions” actor reflected on his turn as the villain in 2017 film “War for the Planet of the Apes,” admitting that he felt “rigid” in the role.

“When things are going right, I don’t feel rigid. But there are performances where I was like, ‘Why couldn’t I just get outside whatever I was doing?’ Ten years later, I’ll think of something I should have done in a scene, and I want to tear my head off,” Harrelson told The New York Times Magazine. “‘Planet of the Apes,’ that’s one of those times where there was so much technology involved in what we were doing, I was a little daunted. If I did that part again, I could do it 20 times better.”

How Michael B. Jordan’s Love of Anime Shaped ‘Creed III’ Fight Scenes

There’s always more going on in a boxing ring than just the punches thrown. Action movies in general, and boxing movies especially, offer characters extreme physical challenges and use cinematic tools to express their internal struggles. For example, when the first “Creed” film holds back on using the iconic “Rocky” theme until the 12th round of the final fight, that’s director Ryan Coogler using the language of the “Rocky” movies to show how valiant Adonis Creed is.

For “Creed III,” Michael B. Jordan, the franchise’s star who took on directing duties for the first time, had a new language that he wanted to bring the story of  how Adonis, at the peak of his fighting powers, confronts the violence of his past: anime.

Jordan has been a long-time anime fan, both of the...

5 Ways the ‘1923’ Finale Provided Closure for a Thrilling, Brutal First Season

Oh “1923,” you thrilling, thoughtful, brutal show. What a finale you delivered. And for us viewers whose heads are spinning from Timothy Dalton’s BDSM-obsessed bad guy and that heartbreaking separation for Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alex (Julia Schlaepfer) there’s so much to process that we need that “1923ending explained.

The thing that’s so interesting about the Season 1 finale, “Nothing Left to Lose,” written, as with every episode of the “Yellowstone” franchise, by Taylor Sheridan, is that it actually resolves quite a lot even as it sets up that much more for the future. Could it have served as a series finale if “1923” hadn’t already been renewed for Season 2? Possibly. There don’t appear to be plans for a continuation of “1883,” and the product...

The Director Who Walked Away from ‘Fast and Furious’ Is Going Indie — Again

After spending 15-plus years as the brain behind the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, Justin Lin has lined up his first post-car racing film. The filmmaker, who left “Fast X” over creative differences last year, is set to direct “The Last Days of John Allen Chau,” IndieWire has confirmed.

The film, an indie based on the 2019 Outside Magazine article by Alex Perry, will represent something of a return to Lin’s roots. The director first rose to prominence with several independent films like “Shopping for Fangs,” 2002 Sundance title “Better Luck Tomorrow,” and 2007’s “Finishing the Game.” Since 2006, however, Lin has become best known for his work on the blockbuster “Fast and the Furious” movies, directing “Tokyo Drift” and the following four titles in the series...
